The Bridge To employment program has affected my life in numerous ways. I am extremely grateful to have been given the opportunity to take part in the program. I have been in the Bridge To employment program since my freshman year, and now that my Senior Year is more than halfway over I am sad to see it come to an end. Bridge To Employment has taught me numerous things since I started my high school career. Starting back in April of my Freshman year, I learned the importance of managing my time. When we were given the application, many of my friends did not hand it in until the day it was due. I wanted to show my eagerness to join the program, so I handed in my application the day after it was given to us. By doing so, my counselors knew …show more content…
Maria Joyce came back in late February, she spoke to us about the college process. Within her talk, she gave us a few tips on how to react to being deferred from an Early Decision school. About two weeks before she came to speak to us, I was deferred from Boston University 's Early Decision Program. Until Ms. Joyce came, I was extremely upset about this notification. Thankfully, she lifted my spirits and gave me some extremely helpful tips on how to go about being deferred. Also, she helped me realize that although we may not get into our top choice school, ultimately whatever happens is for a reason, and we are the ones who make our college experience, not the college we attend. In the end, I was ______________ from Boston University Regular Decision.
Above I have mentioned a few of the different ways Bridge To Employment has impacted my life, but there is definitely many more aspects that they have helped me out with, and I am so thankful for all of the opportunities I was given through BTE.
In college, I will be studying the Hospitality Industry. Throughout my life, I have always been attracted to hotels, and they are one of the main components in me having a welcoming personality today. Throughout high school, I have tried to make my fellow classmates feel welcomed, so I ran for many leadership positions. Today, I currently hold eight leadership positions and have had the opportunity to work with a near 400
