She was such a caring and loving mother, it was clear to see that she just did not know how to entertain or be there for her children. With such a kind-hearted and sensitive personality, when she made the discovery of how her husband and the concentration camp treated and disposed of the Jews, she did not handle it well. Even though she had the base knowledge of how the Jews were treated and had previously acted as though they were not human but vermin. The killing of another, even if they were a Jew, for the desire of a Fatherland was just unfathomable. This humanity and respect for human life that she had obtained with the abhorrent knowledge, did not benefit her or her family and she was unable to subsist on her appearance and keep up her facades anymore.
