The trial was between the Soldiers and the crown. The soldiers were defended by John Adams, and the prosecutor was Robert Payne. Their were eight soldiers on trial, and six were innocent while two used the rights of the clergy. Out of the mob that provoked the soldiers 11 were either killed or wounded.

The Boston Massacre was what sparked the American revolution. The colonists were already disgusted with the British and this was a tragedy that was used to draw them together against the British. Many people were upset with the outcome and did not believe that the soldiers were rightly punished. The trial was an important event in history that proved crucial to the rise of the Americans against the British.
