The Book Thief Climax Analysis

I rate The Book Thief a 4 because the different parts of the plot had a unique way of interconnection. There were small details that seemed unimportant, but as the storyline progressed the minute detail from earlier turns out to be important. For example, in the beginning Liesel, the main character, steals a book, and the author recounts the story of how she obtained that book. In the plot that plays a major role because that spurs Liesel's book stealing ways, so that first minute detail ended up bestowing upon the book its title.

The climax is a moment of intense feeling or emotion; therefore, the climax of The Book Thief is where the main character has a heap of emotions thrown upon her because she has lost many of her loved ones in the

Climaxes are supposed to keep you on the edge, to keep you interested. In each chapter there is a different climax. Though some are less significant than others. A few climaxes that got your heart beating were when Dantes escaped the Chateau d’If, the probability of a duel between Albert and The Count and then when Villefort is rushing to save his wife. Notably there were some other important climaxes such as Dantes being arrested and Dantes finding the treasure on the Isle Monte Cristo.…

An event in The Book Thief that is the exposition is when the narrator, “Death”, has its first flashback, to when Liesel’s brother died on the train. I chose this to be the exposition because it gave insight to the trauma she has been through and how that affects her now. An event in The Book Thief that is the rising action is when Hans gives the bread to the jewish person during the march. After facing the consequences, this made Hans feel so uneasy about Max hiding in their house, that he sent him away.…

The theme of The Book Thief is death. I believe that this is the theme because death is reoccurs throughout the whole book. Death is also the narrator of this story. This book took place during the genocide of Jewish people, meaning that all the Jewish people in Germany were being tossed in concentration camps as if they were meaningless and being killed. The story begins with Liesel’s brother’s unfortunate death, later on in the book we find out that her mother also died in a concentration camp.…

Literary elements help to make up a story; for this reason they are extremely important. The elements of literature, are the ground beneath the feet of a story. In The Book Thief, written by Markus Zusak, the literary element, man versus society, plays an extremely detrimental role in the story. Almost every character, goes through some form of man versus society conflict during the story. Some of the characters that are most affected by this are; Liesel, Max, Rudy, and Hans.…

Shawshank Redemption takes place in Maine in the middle of the twentieth century. The narrator is known as “the guy that can get it for you (1),” referring to a guy that can get things those in prison might want, like cigarettes, alcohol, or anything else within reason. This makes him a very important man in prison, because in order to get what people want, he has to have connections on the inside and outside. Given that he is the only one the reader knows about that is able to do this, he seems to be highly respected by fellow prisoners, including the main character, Andy Dufresne. Dufresne’s time in prison wasn’t deserving, he was found guilty of killing his wife and the man she was having an affair with, which he never did.…

Frantz Fanon’s The Wretched of the Earth is a powerful text concerning the struggle faced by colonized people on their journey against colonialism and towards liberation. Rooted not only in psychology but also in Marxism and critical theory, the book provides an analysis of number issues related to colonialism and decolonization.
