The AFL atmosphere involves booing of players in response to their actions, playing style and behaviours. Booing can’t be defined as a racial remark. Spectators still remember Adam calling out 13 year old girl when she called him an “ape”. Adam was seen to overreact and cause controversy over the issue, even though the young spectator was unaware the term ape was racist. This caused controversy due to her age and little knowledge that the term was racist. She was removed from the ground, but later apologised.This has lead the spectators to not like his behaviour and are dissatisfied with the way he has gone about it. Adam's spear throwing goal celebration was looked upon spectators in various ways. Through the discussion of the war dance it created multiple different views which brought about a tension relating back to Adam. This war dance brought back more tension to Adam which added more to the already existing case. Adam has brought about attention to himself which is growing. He has been seen to taunt opposition fans, which will of course lead to a reaction which won’t necessarily be the one he wanted.
