[ ] In clip one, the children are engaged through discussion about their prior knowledge. For example, the children are asked what they already know about predictions and are able to learn from others through discussion. Then the children are given the opportunity to identify what they already know about predictions within a small group in clip two. My instruction linked the children’s development by providing opportunities for the children to use their prior knowledge of predictions and verbally communicate their understanding as well as record through writing on a chart within a small group. After the children identified their prior knowledge, I created a bridge to the new learning by building on their understanding through using a anchor chart with new ideas for the children to learn as well.…

I am anti-Communist and pro-capitalist, to show this in my poster I drew hot air balloons and clouds. In each balloon, there are words that represented how the people felt while fleeing from the wall. The clouds represent a new era because before West Berlin was blocked off by the wall from East Berlin and when the wall came down the citizens of West Berlin could not "see". The word see in this case means to see who they have been blocked off from, and what they missed out on. This could go for both West and East Berlin because even though the wall surrounded only West Berlin the people in East Berlin were still blocked off from the West.…

There are some challenges to hands on and cross-curricular learning, within our activity we came across some areas that could have been developed, Hayes (2010) argues that hands on learning its heavily resourced. We agreed with this as the amount of resources we had available were limited. We also didn’t ensure we had planned for a child with a medical need, and therefore had to re arrange the activity a quarter of the way through the lesson to ensure she could join in. One key area that we identified was that children became more involved with the way the house looked in a creative sense, rather than the scientific reasoning. This challenge is also identified by Jarvis (2009) who expresses that one of the risks to cross-curricular learning is that one subject takes over in response to children’s enthusiasm and interest, this is of a loss to the other subject.…

The author starts with the explanation how social exploration is deeply connected with the diversity of ideas and social learning, the combination of which is the only way which leads to any innovation. Pentland advocates the “wisdom of the crowd” judgment in contrast to individual opinion, reminding that collective intelligence is used to be the leading one throughout the whole history of humanity. He presents the evidence of an online trading platform where the “wise” optimal lies between the judgement of isolated traders and those…
