Not only can illnesses cause anemia, but also anemia can be inherited through genetics. This can be the most mild form of anemia. Most often, when a child is diagnosed as anemic it has most likely been inherited from their mother. Likewise, when a pregnancy induced anemic mother gives birth to her child, it is likely that the child may form or struggle with anemia in his or her life. Furthermore, a person diagnosed with anemia due to genetics should not take more iron than needed. Too much iron in one 's bloodstream is not necessarily a good thing. Since people genetically affected experience a mild form of anemia the dosages should be monitored. Overdosage may put them at risk for heart disease, diabetes, and cancers. First, there is a rather simplistic way of treating folate deficiency . The easiest and fastest way to treat this deficiency is to take folic acid pills. Also, having a healthy diet and exercising regularly can help. For B-12 deficiency the easiest way to accomplish the most normal hemoglobin levels possible is to take B-12 vitamins. In harsh and accelerated forms of Anemia, blood transfusions may be needed. If a highly Anemic person is in need of some type of surgery, it is more than likely that, the person may need a transfusion. Also, new studies have shown that getting transfusions regularly can adequately and quickly solve the problem Anemia presents. Within weeks a highly Anemic person can be feeling and experiencing normal levels of hemoglobin which helps the body learn to produce those levels normally. The main problem of this method of healing is that it may cost anywhere from $360 to $840 per week. In order to treat iron deficiency or sickle cell Anemia, victims may need to take iron capsules. For sickle cell anemia these capsules may be needed as well as transfusions (Lands). Iron pills taken alone are generally for patients with mild anemia. Anemia can starve the human body of oxygen and affect the lives of patients significantly. Also, anemic people do not always realize that a proper diet can combat many of the symptoms at hand, but it certainly helps. When a person finds out that they are anemic they may have many questions, but with a proper understanding one will realize the best treatment. There are various types of Anemia and each person’s anemia affects them differently. Anemia is personal to me because I, as well as other family members, have an iron deficient form of it. I experience the usual symptoms and take iron capsules to compensate. Anemia is extremely common, but not many are aware of the aspects involved. Iron, folic acid, and vitamin B-12 are all needed in the body to bind and release oxygen from red blood cells. Regular amounts of hemoglobin in the bloodstream is exceptionally important for a person to live a healthy life. Blood and oxygen are necessities when it comes to the human body and the levels needed to function properly. Understanding of these different types of deficiencies are essential to understanding Anemia and the importance of normal amounts of red blood
