The Bite: A Fictional Narrative

“Tell me if they're too tight.” Derek said as he did the last things for tonight. “It's okay.”

You might think we're going to do some dirty things. But no. Derek was helping me with my first full moon.

I've known Derek since we were in diapers. Our parents already knew each other before our birth. And yes, my parents got to know a lot about werewolves. Maybe that's why they weren't mad at me when I asked them if I could get the bite. Of course they weren't happy with it in the first place, but a talk with Mr. and Mrs. Hale convinced them. Yes, there was a risk that my body would fight the bite. Fortunately, that didn't happen.

Now I was here, locked up in a dark room, chained to a pipe. A light bulb was burning in the middle of the room. Derek had grabbed a chair and was sitting in front of me. Derek already knew how to control himself. His mother told me it only took him three full moons before he could stay calm. He was definitely someone I've looked up to in my entire life. I relaxed as I felt the pain flooding away and taking its place by sharp, long nails digging into my skin. I could feel my canines growing and I let out a loud growl. “Relax, Y/N. Try to think about something nice or even try to find your anchor.” He said as he was nervously pulling on his cuticles. I was whirling against the chains as I was thinking about something that could bring me back. And I found myself thinking about

Preston Wolfe Mr. Jeffrey Stuckey English Composition 2 June 23rd, 2017 Book Review - First Bite: How we learn to eat This is an informative book about eating: about how taste preferences are formed, and how we can change them, and why it's so hard to start eating healthily when you're used to the opposite, and about eating disorders and their treatment. One of the things I learned from this book is that I do not enjoy reading about eating for nearly 300 pages. It is very clear that this book, while informative, is very dry. Written by a British author, Bee Wilson, this book is comparable to finding out how many licks it takes to get to the center of a lollypop.…
