They have shown their anger and frustration because local government did not plan the city as a hurricane protected city when they were aware about its geographic credentials. The Ten Years After Katrina article it was estimated that nearly 400,000 individuals lost their jobs as a result of the storm. So many families lost their only supply of income. The Ten Years After Katrina showed how the Hispanic population almost doubled ay 2013. The article explained how the Hispanics started taking most of the jobs. There are still volunteers crews at work throughout the city. They are still trying to undo what was done years ago. They both also showed the frustration and sadness of the people and how they were both affected by the dramatic change. The New York Time stated more about how all the prices on everything increased. NYT also showed more on how the government abandoned them and how that affected them and their families. Verses the Ten Years After Katrina showed more on how Hispanics started over populate the city. Ten Years After Katrina talked more about how Katrina effected the children and schooling, where NYT did not talk about how it affected schooling.
Both New York Time article and Ten Years After Katrina article had great arguments and discussions. They both hit different topics but explained them well. Whichever article you choose to read, both show how Hurricane Katrina changed many lives and affected many people differently. Many homes were destroyed and now the communities are working to rebuild their once beautiful cities.
