The big debate over homework
Homework, that's the big thought in the minds of most students, teachers, and parents. As a result of the traditional grading system, homework is given major criticism. As revealed by many educators and parents, debating between whether homework should grade as completion ( meaning you turn it in completed and you get an A) or not at all is a rather large topic illustrated among people who interact within the school environment. Within the article, “ In some schools, homework doesn't make the grade anymore”, the topic of homework is sparked when a School in Missouri named Lincoln Elementary took the state test. Although many students had great grades in class the test results did not represent that. Consequently, the administration began looking for, why the inadequate test results had occurred in spite of the golden grades many students possessed in the grade book. With a little searching, the administration uncovered the reasoning behind this event. Part of student grades are measured on homework completion and participation. Meaning it was entirely possible for a student with insufficient knowledge on a subject to score well in the class by turning in homework and raising their hands in class but not score great on tests. The solution the school came up with contradicted the traditional way
