The Big Bang Theory: The Significance Of The Big Bang Theory

Thousands of websites and books exist for the sole purpose of proving or disproving religion. The ringleader on the side of proving religion is no doubt the Bible. Scientists and cosmologists constantly lead the way in proving there are sources that are more reliable than a sole creator. The Big Bang Theory is the idea of how the universe came to be, starting from one single particle and growing over the next 13.8 billion years to what the cosmos is today (Howell). Unlike the aspect of religion, models and mathematical theory often provide proof of the Big Bang Theory (Howell). Although many tend to disagree with proven facts, the Big Bang Theory lays the foundation for how human beings were created. Scientific theory provides credibility …show more content…
Morris). Controversy to those beliefs, scientists have estimated that the earth is the same age as the sun and the rest of the planets in the solar system, which are over 4.5 billion years old (Cain). Scientist have come to this conclusion using theory’s and methods from finding the age of old rocks, some even as old as 4.2 billion years old (Cain). The bible lacks the evidence to support how rocks found beneath the surface of the Earth could be older then Earth itself. At some point in Earths early life, a planetoid crashed into it and formed what we call the Moon (Cain). All these findings come together to support the idea of The Big Bang forming the universe and bringing together the solar system including Earth. The accurate method of calculating the Earths age is by using radiometric dating; this process reads the radioactivity of various materials and substances (Cain). Although the oldest rock found on Earth is just over 4 billion years old, scientists agree that the Earth is as old as the Solar System as they were both formed 4.54 billion years ago from a diffuse cloud of hydrogen (Cain). Biblical documents all suggest slightly different dates for the Earths age (J. Morris). On average coming to the conclusion of the Earth being just over 6000 years old, on occasion some sources state the Earth is between 5000 and 15000 years old; without any explanation to how …show more content…
Developed by a geologist by the name of Charles Darwin, evolution and the process of natural selection is constantly debated regarding whether it should be taught alongside other ideas such as creationism or intelligent design (Than). Natural selection is the process by which organisms change over time based on heritable physical or behavioral traits (Than). Color and size could be the simplest change over the course of a few generations caused by natural selection, also known as microevolution (Than). One topic regarding evolution and natural selection was the idea of how a whale survived on land (Than). The smoking gun appeared in 1994 in the remains of a fossilized animal known as swimming-walking whale (Than). This animal could swim through water, and clumsily walk on land, easily being able to develop into the whale of today (Than). Creationism on the other hand supports three basic forms: scientific, biblical and scientific biblical. Each form providing a different idea of creationism, but all forms come together to support the idea of a supernatural creator and not the idea of natural selection by evolution (H. Morris). Biblical creation supports the Earth coming to life in a six-day process of creation followed by Earth history overflowed by Noah’s Flood (H. Morris). Scientific creation is the idea of the universe coming together from a supernatural creator, also canceling out evolution with

Many religious people believe that God was the creator of The Big Bang which created the Universe. Scientist are still searching beyond The Big Bang. The truth is that human beings have learned a significant amount of information over human history and we continue to learn more about how the universe was created. We know that the universe came from the big bang about 13.7 million years ago, and we also understand that nebulas are the birthing grounds of planets. We have explained the difference between terrestrial planets and gas giants.…

Some of the Solar Nebula elements were heavier, including oxygen, lead and iron. The nebula decreased under its own gravity, accumulating into lumps that at the end became the sun, planets, moons and other bodies. According to the Old-Earth supporters, the secular age of the earth is about 4.5 billion years and a universe is about 14 billion years old. As with Mars, Mercury and Venus, they were formed from some elements that had accumulated in a zone round about 55 million to 230 million kilometers (35 million to 140 million miles) from the sun. Even though the Earth did have some hydrogen and helium in its early atmosphere, its weak gravity lost its light gases right afterwards.…

Moon: Theia Impact or “Big Splash” Theory: When in Earth was still in a molten state, an impactor (Theia) collided with the still forming Earth. Debris and magma that separated from the original body is believed to have congregated and formed into our moon, remaining in its “parent’s” orbit. (Most Plausible Explanation) Fission Theory: Chunk of magma separated from Earth in early formation stages. Pacific ocean basin is said to be where material was removed. Capture Theory: The moon was formed elsewhere and was pulled into Earth’s field of gravity. The moon is 4.5 billion years old.…

The theory tells tries to show that the moon and earth was together when they past through a black hole. When going through the black hole the moon and earth separated as they are today. The only flaw in that theory is that it wouldn't explain why the moon orbits the earth. The theory that is probably the most trustworthy is the Giant Impact Hypothesis. The Giant Impact Hypothesis is that when the earth was still forming around 4.5 billion years ago the moon hit the earth, at least now it is called the moon before this mars sized planetoids was called Theia.…

Some secular scientist believe that the Earth and universe from a process related to the Big Bang theory causing the Earth and the universe to form slowly over billions of years. Uniformitarianism also date the Earth around 4.6 billion years old from the way sediments and layers of soil sediments have been layered. From the use of radioactive dating and the decay of daughter isotopes. Uniformitarianism rejects the scripture of God by the belief in the Big Bang Theory.…

If there were a body of water big enough to contain it, Saturn would float. Saturn’s most recent discover could be the giant hexagon circling its north pole, with sides nearly 7,500 miles across- big enough to fit nearly 4 earths inside. Thermal images show it reaches some 60 miles down into the planet’s atmosphere. The cause remains uncertain. As Saturn is the sixth planet, it is said to be cold.…

Examine the differences between religious and scientific accounts of the origins of the universe and the origins of the human life (30) Scientists and Theologians have been in disagreement for centuries over their views on the origins of the universe and the origins of human life. In this essay I will look at the differences of the opposing accounts. Theologians such as Arthur Peacock believe in Continuous Creation. This is the idea that God is present in the creation of the World that continues on all the time. Peacock accepts sciences theory of evolution but he believes that God made it possible.…

Was the earth made thousands of years ago or millions of years ago? The earth is something that humans have theorized about for many years, but we don’t know which ones are right or wrong. One of the most controversial ideas that humans have is how old the earth is. People have come up with two options, the first is the New Earth idea which believes that the earth was made thousands of years ago, the other idea is the Old Earth perspective where people believe the earth was made millions of years ago. In my opinion, both are right, and both are wrong because it is said in the Bible that one day is a thousand years with God.…

Titan is one of the 62 known moons that orbit Saturn. It is located at 9.5 AU from the Sun, Titan lays nestled 1425.88 km, or 886 mi, from Saturn in its outermost ring. From here it takes 15 days and 22 hours to orbit Saturn…
