In this episode of ‘The Big Bang Theory’ we see that they use all the basic formulas of a sitcom. We see 4 conventional scientists that can’t talk to girls and make Star Wars references and 1 dumb blonde. This works well for the show because the references in the show are easily relatable and the characters have witty one-liners to laugh at. The directors and writers write the stereotypical characters pretty well, but they’re very predictable. The startling first scene was when Leonard and Sheldon had to bring an object up the flights of stairs and into Penny’s room.…

I feel like Ryder is progressing on typical toddler issues as well as anyone can expect. One typical toddler issue he is facing is potty training. It is suggested in the textbook that parents not push their children to be toilet trained but allow them to choose when they are ready, and assist them when they are. Lindsay and I have been using this method, wanting his curiosity to lead him to be ready. The average age children are ready for toilet training is at 22 months (1 year, 10 months), however this is simply an average, and some children will be ready before or after this period.…

Using positive reinforcement to encourage a child behavior. For example if a child does their homework without being told. I would be using positive reinforcement by praise or rewarding them. I would tell the child, that they will get extra tv time every time they don't have to be told to their homework, that would be their award. For praise them, I would keep telling how great of a student they are, every time they do that action.…

Skinner, a well-known psychologist from the 1970’s who enlightened the world with his behavioral techniques. Skinner believed that the use of positive reinforcement helped to shape a beings behavior verses punishment. He proved his theory when he trained his rats to push a lever by frequent and scheduled rewards and birds to peck plates using his positive reinforcement ideas. Since I do not have kids, I asked my parents how they performed the time-out method when I was a kid, in which their answer consisted of having me sit in a chair, facing the wall and telling me to be quiet, not to move, and to think about why I am being punished. The time-out only lasted for a few minutes, if I behaved during the process. If I were to have talked, moved or continued misbehaving I would have stayed in time-out longer until I did the time out correctly, thus shows my parents effectively performing acts of reinforcement. In this case, it is called negative reinforcement which King (2008) defines as the frequency of a behavior increases because it is followed by the removal of something undesirable. Basically, hoping my good behavior would increase to avoid the undesirable punishment of a time-out with a slight chance I would never have to endure time-outs again.…

Since I really wanted my reward of candy at the end of the day I didn’t bit my nails. Positive reinforcement is another way that could have helped for influencing my behavior. When I acknowledged that I was not biting my nails and they were placed in my lap, it would have been effective to reward myself. Instead of looking forward to a reward at the end of the day I would have been looking forward to a reward every time I was taking a test.…

Astronomers believe that our universe was created roughly 13.7 billion years by a single singularity in which expand into the universe we live in today. This theory is know as the Big Bang theory. It's the belief that before 13.7 billion and a single singularity there was no matter, no energy, and no space within our universe; and then an immensely small hot, dense mass expanded forming everything we touch, breathe, and explore in today's universe. This theory was first proposed in the 1929, when astronomer Edwin Hubble discovered the Doppler effect in which measure the speed of how fast astronomical objects move toward or away from Earth. Through, Hubble's discovery astronomers learned that galaxies are steadily moving apart from each…
