So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets." ~ Bible ( Mathew 7:12) Thus, it is evident to see that God has wanted all people to treat each other how they would like to be treated. One that gives respect to others must ultimately be given respect from society. This would directly relate to the concept of karma in which it is god’s will that all men must be compensated for their actions. The Bible is god’s handbook and thus god wants his people to follow these rules and live life purely as this quote describes on of his key principles that people have followed for many years. Now, at IMSA, people must give each other only respect for bullying is a concept that people thousands of years from now will look back upon and thank us for the bold decisions we have made.

What one does to others is then reflected upon oneself. Punishment is evident in not just IMSA but in all societies for wrong doings. Those sinful actions are equal and opposite of whatsoever has been done on a person. Therefore, God will influence our mindset to shun any that bullies because this social punishment is cruel and the only way for people change. We are all pons in the chess game of life and god is the chess master. He knows who we are as people and decides our fate. Therefore, we must apply the golden rule. An instance of this rule applied can be shown with The Halls of the Dark Muse. If I do something nice for you, I do not expect you to do anything for me. I believe that character is what you do when no one is looking. Reciprocity would cause an issue with people expecting to have the whole world handed to them after they opened a door for someone at the mall. I also believe that if someone was to smash my headlight with a baseball bat that I should not do that to them. The Bible tells us to “do unto to others as they would to you” but the Bible also teaches us to “turn the other cheek”.…

The document starts off by explaining why God made man different from another, and cites several reasons. He argues that man should help one another in times of trouble. He mentions that they should" ...love thy neighbor as he loves himself" (Winthrop 1). Winthrop believes that they should display "love to an enemy" and that they should give beyond their abilities, but they must serve God first. Winthrop says that Christianity is bound by love, and it is love that causes people to do things out of sympathy, kindness, and the goodness of their hearts.…

The rule is rephrased and found in the Bible in Matthew 7:12 and allow people to reevaluate their actions before it is done. According to John Locke, he stated that the, “Golden Rule: Do unto others as you would have done unto you” (Locke 2). There are many injustices throughout the world today, and one apparent example is the dehumanization of lower class people. Many people are exploited in order for others to make a profit. This is largely in developing countries, but it also exists in industrialized countries. The main cause of this injustice is large companies trying to make money. This injustice occurs in multiple forms, including ill treatment of naive people and discrimination of others for past mistakes.…

In the Golden Booklet of the True Christian Life by John Calvin, there are five ways of giving glory to God, which simplifies down to the Five Solas: Sola Scriptura, Sola Fide, Sola Gratia, Solus Christus, and Soli Deo Gloria. Glory, in this case, is defined as high renown or honor won by notable achievements; those general achievements, which happen to also be summarizations of the Reformations’ theological convictions, are through the individual Solas. Out of the Five Solas that emerged, Sola Scriptura, where the Bible contains the highest authority, is the most relevant in today’s culture for it is the foundation of Christianity, it contains life-changing messages, and it is a way of knowing God and His powers of influence. The Bible…

But that isn’t the right thing to do. The right thing to do is treat people the way that you want to be treated. The last quote that really stuck out to me in this narrative is “It is easy to make mistakes, hard to apologize and even harder to show grace, but I believe showing grace shows love.” Even though doing the right thing can be hard sometimes, we have to try and do the right thing.…

“Just Mercy: A Story of Justice and Redemption” is a captivating narration of the impact of empathy and the human spirit. Author Bryan Stevenson works tirelessly to help provide relief for death row inmates who were wrongly condemned, poorly defended, or left to die in America’s overgrowing prison system. He not only offered these people legal advice, but also showed his clients compassion and mercy, which many of them had not previously experienced. This is mostly evident in one specific passage in his story: “There is a strength, a power even, in understanding brokenness, because embracing our brokenness creates a need and desire for mercy, and perhaps a corresponding need to show mercy. When you experience mercy, you learn things that are…

Concepts of freedom and morality gained a lot of momentum during the Enlightenment period. The Enlightenment period saw a shift from the main line of thinking from religion to reason. Because of this shift of the dominant ideologies, philosophers attempted to explain morality through empirical means rather than attributing morality to God. Two of the most influential philosophers of this period were Immanuel Kant and Jean-Jacques Rousseau. This essay will show how Kant’s perspective of freedom and morality was inspired by Rousseau and how the way in which Kant’s view of freedom relates to his idea of the moral law is due to his view of autonomy.…
