Every pregame needs to feel, look and operate the same way or I feel like we lost before ever stepping out on to the field. Running through sprints, catching fly balls, fielding grounders all has to be timed. I even have to play catch with the same person before every game, it just feels right knowing that he and I are almost in sync. Every time I start a game on the mound, I need to get a nice 30 pitch bullpen session in. Every pitch is scripted, the pitch, the location, even how hard I throw it is all written in and done the same. This is to consistently pitch at the highest level possible to get the best results out of my arm on every single outing. Losing to me meant that I played bad, no matter what anyone else told me or what my stat sheet said. A loss was a loss, no matter how much I worked in that game. It meant that thee other players were better than me and I just could not accept that. Even though I pitched off the nicest mound I have ever thrown from, or hit out into the nicest field ever played on, I could not get the loss out of my head.
