Throughout time the Bermuda Triangle has been home to several different disappearances. Ships, planes, and people have all gone missing in this odd area. Mystery arose starting as early as the 1800s. Some believe in different theories as to why there have been so many disappearances such as hexagonal clouds acting as air bombs, a strange ocean floor, and erratic weather conditions but, nothing proves to be the answer to these peculiar occurrences.
The mystery of hundreds of losses at sea takes place in the Bermuda Triangle. Between the 1800s and the 1970s, various ships got lost at sea including, the USS Cyclops, the Marine Sulphur Queen, the Sylvia L. Ossa, and the Carroll A. Deering (Rudolph). The Bermuda …show more content…
There are several different claims made by scientists, for example, methane gas existence, compass variation, and ocean currents all being the reason for ship and plane crashes. The sea floor in the Bermuda Triangle contains a large amount of methane gas causing water to be less dense and allows ships to sink easily. Planes could also crash because the gas gets into the air after explosions in the ocean and it might cause explosions in the air (“14 Popular Bermuda Triangle Theories”). Christopher Columbus recorded that he saw strange variations on his compass which supports the magnetic and absolute North difference in the area (Rudolph). Large waves have formed In the Triangle because of the Sargasso Sea, it has ocean currents but no shore. Also, spectators ever recorded waterspouts that have occurred in the area could be another reason for sunken ships and planes (“14 Popular Bermuda Triangle Theories”). Their theories contain validity because there is evidence such as the ocean floor shape and the evidence of methane gas in the area. Also, scientists have been able to study other cloud formations in other regions to compare to the hexagonal clouds in the Bermuda Triangle which shows how they can act as air bombs. Records show reports of waterspouts and tornadoes that are so spasmodic that even satellites cannot detect them (“14 Popular Bermuda …show more content…
There are no real facts about their beliefs in aliens, Atlantis, sea monsters, time warps and reverse gravity fields. The legend of Atlantis says that special energy crystals were extremely powerful. These crystals contained a lot of energy and caused navigational instruments to malfunction. Ships and planes could be lost or destroyed because of these high energy crystals (“Bermuda Triangle - Supernatural Explanation”). What makes their refutation invalid is it there is no evidence to support their claims. Scientists have physically observed things such as the strange weather in the Triangle or the shape of the clouds above it. However, paranormal writers base many of their claims off of legends from the
