The riddle of the frozen mammoths has puzzled scientists for many years. They have been wandering if these animals existed before the flood (and thus they were caught in the deluge i.e. swamps) or they existed after the flood in the conditions that could bring their sudden death and preservation.
In the book “Creation: Accident or Design?” by Harold G Coffin the mammoth …show more content…
A scientific expedition in the location where the mammoths were discovered, frozen soil which had slumped from the high banks behind it still partially buried the creature.
As the excavation of the mammoth continued, it became apparent that woolly hair one and a half to two inches long covered the animal. Also it had bristle hairs eighteen inches long protruding beyond the shorter hair and this shows that the animal was well protected against the cold freezing ice. Beneath the hair was a hide three fourths of an inch and most of its parts for protection against the cold represented a feature not previously known by biologists.
Coffin in his book “ Origin by design” also mentions that popular literature on mammoths has given the impression that man has found vast numbers of intact frozen elephants in the north .He argues that it is far from the truth because not more than three dozen frozen mammoths have been found and most of them were fragmentary at least by the time the scientists reached the …show more content…
After having studied its digestive system the food contained in its stomach was found to be consisting of plants from Northern or Alpine habitants.
When scientists were doing their research they discovered that the fossils found in the North are obviously from the flood and they indicate a different climate than that which was experienced by the mammoths.
The remains of the mammoths which were discovered exist in the peat bogs that are most probably post flood.
Finally having looked at the studies of the scientists and their discoveries there is reason to believe that the mammoths associated with man were contemporary with those found in Siberia and in
