America is the land of the free and welcomes everyone, but some people take advantage of it. With violence all over the world, foreigners want to flee to another country for safety. People causing the violence want to create more violence, so some people flee as well with the fleeing victims to other countries to spread more violence. Unless someone is 100% Native American, American citizens have had an ancestor come over to America as an immigrant. Immigrants have been coming over for centries. The definition of an immigrant is a person who comes to live permanently in foreign country. Most recently we challenged our panel to think about work visas. An immigrant may have been forced over the border in some way. If a business tricked the immigrant and sneaked them over or a child may not have had a choice and had come over the border illegally with his or her family years ago. Immigrants may now be stuck growing up as an illegal immigrant in some way. A process to advance immigration is to issue the illegal immigrant a work visa. The work visa is a stepping stone to get the illegal immigrant into becoming an Unites States. citizen. The immigrant can work, legally make money and get paid minimum wage to start off a life in the United States. After a certain amount of time, the immigrant can pay what it takes to become an American citizen.
