The Benefits Of Winning The World

Improved Essays
When was the last time you’ve heard of the New York Mets winning the World

Series? Unless you’re a true fan, you probably haven’t. It's been 31 years! They won in

1986. Even though many people ( mostly Yankee fans) laugh at me for still believing in

them, I do believe that they have a good chance to win another world championship.

My belief comes from the team winning twice in 1969 and 1986, and how they

have come so close many times. They have a strong chance to come back in the next

season. This organization has a huge fanbase, with great team spirit and support even

though they haven’t been doing well in recent years. I don't believe any other team in

baseball shows such emotion and determination during every single game.

In my opinion, I would consider them one of the favorites for winning the World Series and a big reason for that is because of Strasburg’s pitching. Fortunately, Strasburg is on a team that has helped him out graciously with runs. Other aces have thrown great games and lost because of no offensive support, but with a team filled with offensives stars, that doesn’t seem to happen anytime…
