The Benefits Of Tony Stark

Improved Essays
I think Tony Stark’s side is the right side. Both sides have their own benefits: Tony Stark is my favorite Marvel hero, he is wealthy, smart, and his suits are amazing. On his team, he also has Vision, who is basically the most powerful superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. His body is laced with Vibranium, he’s programmed by Jarvis codes, and his power source is an infinity stone, literally the most powerful objects in the universe. He’s also got War Machine on his side. He might not be the most powerful guy ever, but he’s super smart and combat experienced. Black Widow is a surprising teammate, considering her friendship with Hawkeye and Steve Rogers, but she sees the good in the Sokovia Accords. Black Panther is just there because

We live in a very dangerous world today. We have global threats happening almost every day from various sources, and in various forms. About a decade and a half ago we had an attack we called 9/11, people were terrified after and frantically scrambled to some sense of security. A non-fictional example is from Mark Millar’s Civil War: A Marvel Comics, When a group of amatuer super humans cause an incident where hundreds of people were killed along with a few city blocks destroyed. Another example from historic Salem, Massachusetts when the threat of “Witches” came about people scrambled for security from being hung.…

Raising the taxes on the wealthy would be a great option. The goal is not to tax them to the point of taking it all away, but making it fair, especially in times of struggle. Bob Herbert 2010, a New York Times columnist states that,” America does not have the common sense to raise taxes” (qtd. in King 614) .…

The Civil War or “War between the states” (page 26) is a historical American event like no other that has been over for nearly 150 years. Most Americans are under the notion the Civil War is over and done with where, other Americans believe the war is still being fought today. In Tony Horwitz’s book “Confederates in the Attic” he explores the impact the American Civil War has on the modern day south, and just why southerners in particular still care so much about the Civil War? After reading “Confederates in the Attic” I believe there are a three main reasons the south still cares about the Civil War so much. They are defending southern pride and heritage, a way of defying against the federalist north, and an escape from ones everyday life.…

The topic I chose to analyze from the book Taking Sides is rather the Civil War fought over slavery. This issue occurred in the 18th century and impacted black slaves and whites across the United States. Prior to the Civil War in the southern states (which declared themselves as the Confederate states when they separated from the United States) there were lands that included laborious work and the slaves would do the labor from sunup to sundown. The Confederate states desired to have more slave states and they declared secession from the United States. The Union noticed the Confederate states as a threat and a group of rebels who wanted more power but, the Union wanted balance and would continue to have power.…

In terms of the overall economy, the Carolinas utilized multiple tactics in terms of gaining efficient profit such as trade, slavery, and agriculture. “Many original Carolina settlers, in fact, had emigrated from Barbados, bringing that island's slave system with them. They also established a vigorous slave trade in Carolina itself,” (Kennedy, Lizabeth 36 ). These slaves, along with indentured servants, allowed the wealthier of the population to establish successful plantation that yielded earnings. It was on these plantations that corn, livestock, cotton and tobacco were grown (“Infoplease” 1).…

As I read Michelle Malkin’s article, it got me thinking. Will finding books or poems of interest of the younger generation actually benefit the students in school? Malkin argues that choosing Tupac Shakur’s work instead of the sonnets of Shakespeare is a terrible mistake. She criticizes Tupac giving him a name such as, “the drug-dealing, baseball bat-wielding, cop-hating, Black Panthers-worshiping, convicted sexual abuser who made a fortune extolling the "thug life".” Her opinion is rather harsh as she defines him and believes that students should not be learning about this terrible person.…

Informative Outline Background Information: The Black Panther Party was formed by Huey P. Newton and Bobby Seal in the United States in late October in 1966. The Black Panther Party, also known as BPP was initially formed as a political platform for African Americans to stand up to police and the government. Many African Americans migrated west and north to escape the racism in the south, but once they were in their new cities, they were faced with a new form a racism that they were not accustomed to. The creation of the BPP enabled them to fight back against police brutality and racism in America towards black people and later other minorities who were oppressed. Thesis Statement: Black Panther Party was a major movement during the…

Social security is a federal program that provides monetary benefits to people after they retire. This program also provides benefits to those who are unemployed or disabled. The funding for this program is provided by the taxpayers. Almost every person who receives a paycheck will consistently have their own money taken from them and put towards this government program. Since social security is a government program and a person pays for it every paycheck, in most cases they will qualify for social security benefits once they reach the age of retirement.…

“The Pro-Social Mission” If you think about what a superhero means to you, many answers may fly around like bravery, strength, or power. Very rarely do you ever hear about what exactly makes a superhero, super. In my opinion, I believe it is this pro-social mission that keeps them going on the never ending battle against the fight with evil. A hero can have as many powers or identities that they want to have, but the most important component of their being is that they have a specific goal in mind that will work for the greater good of not only the world, but the entire universe. These other two qualities, power and identity just reinforce who the superhero is.…

The name “Black Panther” holds a different connotation to it depending on who you ask. For some it may be more literal and referring to the actual animal, for others it harkens back to the civil rights group formed in the 1960s. Now however, people are familiar with the term because of the superhero movie released on February 16th of this year. The movie tells the story of T’Challa, King of the fictional African country Wakanda, who returns back to his home country to find that he has a challenger who wants his throne. Yet, boiling Black Panther down to just another “superhero movie” feels disingenuous because the film provides so much more than fighting scenes, action shots, and an obnoxious villain.…

Universal healthcare could benefit the United States in several different ways since the affordable care act is still a financial burden to some of the American people. The need for it is growing substantially in the United States due to how many people are still uninsured. Universal healthcare is beneficial because it provides everyone coverage without financial hardship; promotes preventive care, which would contribute to less costly treatments; and improves quality of healthcare, leading to fewer deaths per year. Through universal healthcare everyone will receive coverage without a financial hardship.…
