The Benefits Of Respiratory Therapy

About 4 years ago, I like many people, had a successful job/career that I learned throughout the years without having to attend school. A job well paid for, but extremely stressful. A job that unfortunately made me ill due to the constant stress I had, and from which I retired about 2 years ago. Thus, a job that made me pursue further education, a new career and that challenged my life to do even better. Back then, my goal included attending college and graduating in the healthcare industry. I suppose every set goal in our lives always have meaning, purpose, and a reason to be, but mine, at that moment, was unfortunately only to pursue an education about the unknown in the medical field with the only reference as "to my illness." Consequently, it was then when I noticed that Respiratory Therapy was my top opted option. A profession that would allow me not only to learn what I wanted from the beginning, but would also allow me to care for others, and best of all, a profession that was going to pay what I used to earn and more, depending where I decided to work. Respiratory Therapy, was then the profession that captivated my interest and full attention. I strongly believe that all changes in our lives, good or bad always happen for a reason, and mine was all worth it. I soon will be a Respiratory Therapist, a member of a growing profession that has the potential to succeed, lead, manage, teach and for some people to even branch out to have their own Homecare setting business. In fact, I definitely would not asked myself for a better

I discounted anything from the medical field because everyone was going there and I didn't want to be a lost number of people rushing to the same career, I wanted to be a little different.…

Like many people in the world, I have always had high goals. Goals that I refuse to give up on until I have accomplished them making them a reality rather than a dream that seemed unreachable at one point. My most important goal other than attending college, of course, is become a Neurosurgeon, which has been a dream of mine since the age of 11. When I first learned about human body I was fascinated from the beginning; mostly the fact that you are never done learning because with every day comes a new unsolved mystery. The human body is so complex yet beautiful all at the same time; having a pink gushy thing called the brain and what looks like a tree having branches attached to it called the spinal cord and nerves, control every movement and…

Thesis: As I continue to progress through my life, I have come to the realization that I am a “hands on” learner because of the delicate sculpting I would do in ceramics. I had come to the realization half-way through my senior year of high school that I wanted something more out of life. At that time, however I had no clue what the sense of “more” was, could it have been adopting a new dog, but to only love it for three months until I parted for college? Could it have been making friends with all new people, which was something I considered myself good at, but to yet again part ways with those friends because it would be three months still I started to make all new friends again? I decided to try something new instead, so I dropped out of…

With all of the advances that have been made in respiratory care, it leaves us with a number of different therapies and equipment available to suit the needs of patients from any age, disease, and demographic. Traditionally you will find a lot of nasal continuous positive airway pressure (NCPAP) in your standard special care nursery or neonatal intensive care unit, to help give…
