Non Renewable Energy Resources

Improved Essays
Phase Three is centered on becoming more energy efficiency and increasing the use of solar energy so that the increasing population will have adequate energy supplies should non-renewable energy sources become depleted. Energy efficiency can be improved by setting stricter guidelines for energy use for corporations and local businesses. These guidelines should be well enforced. Being energy efficient saves money spent on energy costs, and reduces pollution emissions. Additionally, solar panels should be installed onto medium to large sized infrastructure in the downtown core. Renewable energy currently only provides 16.9% of Canada’s total energy supply (Natural Resources Canada), with hydroelectricity being by far the greatest renewable source. …show more content…
If a solution is to be found, I will not be surprised to see every major city in the world switching over to solar energy. Sufficient funding should be committed to solar energy research so we can harness renewable energy more efficiently as soon as possible. The result of urban development is more buildings, and more people. Consequently, more energy will be needed. The availability of non-renewable resources will decrease exponentially, while simultaneously, pollution from the use of non-renewable resources will increase. By committing to using more renewable energy now, expenses on ever-increasing non-renewable resources can be saved, and future generations will have reliable energy generation methods should the supply of non-renewable resources is not able to meet the demand. Admittedly, the funding that I asked for seems much less than what is needed. My professional opinion is that the best idea is for the government to first test out my sustainability plan on a smaller scale. Of the $132 million invested, $7 million will be invested towards a new fleet of 10 hybrid …show more content…
McKee, and the other government members will take my proposal into heavy consideration, and will invest $132 million dollars into sustainable development and a brighter future. I wish for the Government to send me regular updates, and I will remain available for contact at all times. The three critical elements of my plan -eliminating automobiles, building vertically, using more solar power- not only promotes urban growth, but makes Ottawa more environmentally friendly. Sustainable development in Ottawa’s downtown core will allow the city to house a larger population, without taking up any more additional land space. Building a more sustainable downtown core now means future generations, like our children, will not be tasked with having to find solutions to urban sprawl and climate change with nothing to build off of. Let us take the initiative of making a change for the better. Let us be sustainable now, so that there can actually be a

It seems as if today you hear about global warming everyday. One of many proposed solution to this problem is going more energy efficient. This solution can reduce our carbon footprint and help make it so that global warming does not get worse. Economics had a big influence on this solution, whether people can afford upgrading equipment or not, and going energy efficient will help people to save money on utility bills in the long run. There are also many political factors that go into this solution, whether the government is on board with this idea and whether they help people and other nations go more energy efficient.…

It is likely that, while initially more expensive, there is more efficient and effective machines that would work more sustainably than traditional recycling practices. This would work to minimize the negative externalities that the emissions would have on the surrounding environment. By utilizing a more “green” method of recycling, EMI could use this as a marketing advantage to justify their increased prices. It is acknowledged that today there is an increasing demand for environmentally conscious businesses both from consumers and high quality employees. By making a move to a more sustainable practice, EMI could see competitive advantage in the future which would satisfy the board and their…

To accomplish them would mean a complete overhaul in the way we live and the way we do business. Our corporations, governments and the citizens of this Earth need to take their heads out of their behinds to really understand the scope of the situation. We are an innovative species that has discovered plenty of new breakthroughs in the past century. We have developed better recycling methods, learned how to obtain solar energy and developed “green fuel”, all in the past 100 years. I believe that we are only holding ourselves back when it comes to developing new and sustainable living and operating practices.…

Sixth, introducing new clean technologies and transferring job opportunities to clean economies. Invest in clean technology will reduces emissions from the industries and increase jobs in the area of agricultural, forestry, and transport sectors. Although employment will decline as the reduction of jobs related to fossil fuel, net employment rises in the long run since the creation of jobs related to energy efficiency. I think charge taxes and set quotas are the most effective steps. The government makes a plan on sustainable development.…

1). which was previewed in San Francisco. Can the creation of different types of solar-powered cars help these vehicles become the next big thing across the world? Although solar-powered cars can be expensive and be somewhat inconvenient, people should make the switch to a solar-powered car because they save oil and gas, they don’t give out any harmful emissions, and they require little expense for running. The first reason why people should make the switch from regular cars to solar-powered cars would be that they would be saving lots of gas and oil.…

It tackles two issues at once: the continued economic growth sought by developing countries to reduce poverty and improve living standards; and improved environmental valuation needed to solve resource scarcities and climate change. Green energy growth began to be promoted through the 2008-2009 economic laws; some governments set short-term goals– the potential to increase jobs and incomes through boosted investment in green technology. Others approach green energy from an environmental view– the potential to incorporate environmental externalities by mainstreaming sustainable development requirements into economic decision-making. A third importance has more recently been expressed, especially by developing countries – the idea that green energy should serve the part of the population excluded by the current economic…

There is the fact that people consumption will only grow up, and someday, which could be close, our demand will not and can not reach and supply by nature anymore. By that people should start to develop and research another way to self-supply their demand. Unfortunately, at this time, our knowledge does not reach the point to does the fully self-supply, but it does not mean that we can not change anything. We can replace fossil fuel by solar, ocean wave, wind, and nuclear energy. In fact, recently, there are some promises movements such as Tesla Gigafactory which plan to “produce batteries for significantly less cost using economies of scale, innovative manufacturing, reduction of waste, and the simple optimization of locating most manufacturing process under one roof .” Also, “Tesla’s mission is to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy.” Besides, the another way to improve our consumption is to make an improvement in our current facilities.…

But it is easier said than done since there are so many aspects to be considered. The best thing would be if we were able to replace all fossil fuels and replace them with equally efficient but renewable energy sources. That way, we would not have to end up in the seat we are at right now. We need more energy because we have become more people, the energy we get is adversely affecting the climate and keeps the energy sources from running out when we have consumed them. It is very difficult and time-consuming for an entire planet to make such rapid conversion as necessary to cut emissions.…

First, as stated previously, droughts and heat waves would cause the amount of resources to decline. Since the amount of resources would become more limited, then the price of them would increase because there would be more of a demand for them. If the price went up then people who are struggling economically would not be able to afford the nutrients they need in order to live a healthy life. Also, if countries devote more effort and money into defeating climate change it could create more jobs. Countries would try to research for better ways to reduce emissions, and many different types of occupations would be needed to create a more energy efficient planet (Arthur Neslen, 2015).…
