Fossil fuel use must be progressively phased out while renewable fuels are implemented. All the proven sources of oil will be depleted by the year 2055 per Erika Antoniazzo, an author of the website, eco-info.net, who is informed about oil production. One could argue that renewable resources can never be depleted. There will always be wind that can blow turbines. There will always be a sun to heat solar panels. There will always be water to run through dams. The power that can be drawn from these sources is limitless, which is obviously more sustainable than fossil fuels. Scientists are developing technology in the field of nuclear fusion, which if attained will deliver an endless amount of power. These alternative energy sources will deliver energy for the globe until the end of …show more content…
Three well known sources of renewable energy are solar power, wind power, and hydropower. Solar power uses the energy from the sun to power homes and residences. Solar panels absorb the sun’s rays and transfer this heat into electricity through photovoltaic cells. The cost of making these solar panels has gone down quite a bit since their creation, because of the advancements in technology. Whether large or small these solar panels are an efficient way to take advantage of the plethora of energy the sun must offer. Wind power incorporates large turbines that are blown by the wind, when blown these turbines create electricity which can then be stored and sent around the nation. Not only are these turbines available on land, but they are placed in the ocean as well. Hydropower incorporates dams and turbines to create electricity. This production method is common in Canada. As moving water rushes through the dams, the water turns turbines which in turn create electricity. This method of obtaining energy can provide a limitless amount of energy in any area that contains a river. These options make renewable energy sources much more applicable than the traditional sources that are prevalent in the world
