Marijuana is the most commonly used illegal substance in the united states. However, it has the singular of being used both as a commonly used illegal substance and also a legal prescribed medicine. For the past decade the question has been if marijuana should be legalized for medical use. In 1996 California became the first state to legalize the use of medical marijuana. Since then 22 other states and Washington D.C. have legalized it medically. So why doesn't the U.S. government just legalize it all together? Although this drug has been classified as an illegal substance, Marijuana has several benefits with the use of medicine, it can help with muscle spasms caused by multiple sclerosis, nausea from cancer treatment, and seizure disorders.
