More and more children are eating the unhealthy food as school lunch, because schools don’t have enough money to buy health food for children. A research shows that “Although the government raises the subsidy for schools, schools still have 11-cent deficit of school lunch” (Bornstein 158-164). This research shows that schools don’t have enough money. They are in deficit situation, they have no resource offer health food for children. Also, a finding shows most of Americans think school lunch should be changed. Two researchers of public opinion assert that “A survey from Wall Street Journal shows that 83 percent people think school can do better to limit children access to unhealthy food” (Ruskin and Schor 15-17). This survey result directly proves that in today, changing school lunch can’t wait anymore, this situation should be an opportunity to offer children health food and try to make them stay away from junk food. Health food should be school lunch and stop the overweight problem appears in young age. Junk food should be taxed, and use them to purchase health food for children’ school lunch.
