In fact, Editor of the Nutrition Action Health Letter, Susan Perry, says,”more Americans killed themselves with guns during those years than with all other methods combined”(Perry2/14). Though some say that having a gun in the home will prevent crime, it will only increase the risk of serious injury. And that could be the home invader, or the residents. In addition, Ms. Perry states,”The possible benefits of gun ownership are twofold: deterring crime and stopping crimes in progress, but research says that has never been proven”(Perry3/14).
