Exercise is very important for many reasons, especially for older adults. As people age, physical and mental health deteriorates. Incorporating exercise into everyday life can delay the weaknesses that accompany an aging body. Many people however, are not able to reap the full benefits of an active lifestyle due to several factors including laziness, lack of education, and a busy lifestyle.. Although the disabled are limited in their mobility, exercise benefits are not only accessible to the fit and healthy individuals. Furthermore, even the injured or ill have that have very low mobility should participate in the mood-boosting benefits that exercise has. Often, swimming pools are handicapped or disabled accessible. They can use this to their advantage and participate in physical activities that can overcome barriers of mental and emotional health. For example, the disabled can stretch, do aerobics, yoga and lift weights all while in the sitting position.
