It gives a student a way to truly find who they really are and want to be in life. Community college gives students an opportunity to learn about the majors that are compatible with them. Each college makes students take general courses which help inform about the fields that are out there. For me, I have grown up in the Agriculture field and it has always been my passion from when I was young. I knew from the beginning that agriculture is what field I wanted to pursue. Growing up I raised livestock which led me to my passion. Agriculture has many different routes a person can take. For example, one of the reasons I choose community college was because I was able to try out the routes in the Ag field to see what was suited for me. Modesto junior college was the community college I chose knowing that they have the best agriculture program in the valley. The classes that are offered at Modesto junior college have taught me many skills that I couldn’t have learned anywhere else. I am truly thankful for the opportunities, skills and friendships that were gained throughout my years there. I understand that times maybe tough throughout the education career process but it’s worth the stress in the end. As I was reading Nate Abbott’s article about the high paying salaries that come with the degrees a student have received, I was informed about why these degrees pay off. Studies show that a student with a master’s degree brought in a salary of around 70,000 dollars in a year. A student with a bachelor’s degree receives a salary of around 59,000 per year. As this statement clearly shows that the more a student furthers their education the higher the salary increases. A person with a high earning salary will be financially stable during their life time. I believe that Addison has a meaning behind her point as she states that community college is what people should be attending. Community college is a great way to start out to earning an associates, bachelors or master degree. Everyone has to at least start somewhere to reach their highest educational
