I like this buddy system, and think it would definitely help someone gain strength, knowledge, and confidence, while learning their new job. It's much less stressful knowing you have a "buddy" to turn to for help and answers. Feeling supported by your co-workers is a huge part of feeling accepted by the team. When co-workers work well together, its a much better environment for all involved and promotes nurse retention, which leads to quality patient care. It's much better to have consistency on a unit, instead of constantly having to orient new hirers. True collaboration is a critical element of a healthy work environment (American Association of Critical-Care Nurses, 2016). “True collaboration exists when all team members work as colleagues with the best interest of the patient at the center of care” (Rossow, 2012). It is very important to hold training sessions during times that won’t interfere with clinical work. Classes should be focused and not interrupted by patient care needs. Classes should be set up so that nurses are training with nurses from their unit, for example labor and delivery nurses should not be training with nurses from medical-surgical units. During the training process there should be extra people available to provide elbow support if a nurse falls behind in class or needs extra help. The trainers/educators should also be able to train the staff on the use of the system and also understand if there any underlying clinical questions,…

Whether you are a part of a social group or on a group project for school or work everyone has the want and need to be included, when group members don’t feel like they have fully been accepted in to the group they can become withdrawn and anti-social which would lead them to not be a contributing part of the team. Having a diverse group of people on a team can help a team more effectively and efficiently reach their common goal. If everyone on the team had the exact same life experiences, was the same age and the same culture they more than likely would have the same general way to approach the group’s common goal. Having diversity on the team can help generate more ideas because everyone’s life experiences and cultural differences have helped form the way they think and the way that they solve problems. Roles, needs and diversity affect a group’s teamwork immensely because if members aren’t performing their specific goal and only focusing on a self-centered role the groups work will either multiply for the other members of the group or the group’s common goal might not be met.…

It took me a slight bit of willingness to give collaboration and teamwork a shot and understand what is behind it, it’s not just wanted or unwanted socialization, like I thought before, it might be the key to building a business empire, for all I can know. In the modern age, when a lot of the things are already invented, it’s hard to come up with something new on your own. It’s the innovation that rarely takes place in just one head.…
