In this crucial time in their life, kids should be able to get all the information possible to become as smart as possible. But banning books to prevent them from finding out information in the long run only makes them a less knowing person. According to Micah Issitt and C. Ames Cushman, “Given the clear chilling effect which follows from government involvement in the affairs of a free press, granting the government the power to determine the value of published media erodes the freedoms granted under the Bill of Rights by denying free choice to consumers.” From this quote we can see that denying books like Animal Farm will only deny free choice to kids and because of our their limited knowledge, they get denied free choice in the real world because they don’t know everything they could know. This limited knowledge is definitely something we don’t want from banning
