Thesis: Attending preschool causes children to have a better chance of succeeding later in life. While in preschool, children are taught a variety of basic skills that can aid them later in their school careers. Children are taught how to write their names (An Blader), and to do simple mathematics (S Blader). In many cases they learn to spell simple words such as “cat” or “dog” (An Blader). This step up can make the next few levels of school much easier, and therefore less stressful, than they would otherwise be, and sometimes even allows the children to work ahead of their peers on these necessary skills.
