There are many negative effects associated with online social activity. The most prominent are cyber bullying and online risk taking behavior, and victimization by sexual predators. Sexual predators are a major problem when it comes to adolescents on the internet. In 2006, law enforcement had made over thirty one hundred arrest. All of them were adults trying to pose as minors online. Most of the time, when the children form relationships with predators, they are willing to have a sexual relationship. One in five online predators will ask for sexual pictures or they will send them to the victim. Actually a study was done in 2007 saying that fifteen percent of the youth met people that were trying to have an unwanted sexual encounter. This article makes a suggestion that if people made an effort for youth outreach programs. The article also suggests if that a psychological study should be done. It implies that if these two things are done that the number of victims will decrease. Even if the number does decrease there would still be number of children who get victimized.
