The colors that he uses could create an emotional response to the art, he did this because wanted the colors to make the viewer fully understand the concept of the specific piece. One technique van Gogh used a lot, was the dramatic use of lines to show different behaviors in his paintings. In his paining “The Bedroom”, Vincent uses both the technique of lines and the use of color to set a mood to the art work. He used strong vertical lines in “The Bedroom” to depict on the viewers that it was not a peaceful room, and by using diagonal lines on the the picture frames hanging on the wall and window to illustrate the room as being in a chaotic atmosphere. Van Gogh would always be felling in love with women who’s lives he thought he could help or fix. He once fell in love with a widowed cousin but she wasn’t interested in him and soon after finding out he loved her she ran away. Later he would fell in love with a woman who was an alcoholic prostitute, he helped her become clean, but then became deeply depressed when began prostitution once again. For several weeks after this tragedy, he traveled around to different places painting the lands and its people. Like many other famous artists before him, Vincent van Gogh wouldn’t be recognized for his incredible art pieces or become famous until after his death in 1890.
