The bear looked at Titus, then up in the trees at the owl, then back to Titus again the bear got down on all four legs, turned and walked off. “Wow, either the wand worked, or we don’t look very tasty,” Titus said, as he looked up into the trees toward Hootie. After traveling higher up the mountain, Titus and his two companions came to a grassy meadow. Urging the mule to a big rock, “This,” Titus said to the mule as he dismounted, “Is where we will spend the night.” Taking a string and a hook from his pouch, he looked up at Hootie and said," I’ll catch us some fish for dinner tonight.” . After trying for several minutes without so much as a nibble, he was beginning to think he would have to go sleep with an empty stomach. …show more content…
Morning came early, the bright sun lighting up the little meadow where the three spent the night. Hootie again used his skills and caught each of them another fish for breakfast. Looking at the map the mayor had drawn for him Titus decided he was headed in the right direction. “All we need to do is follow the stream to the waterfall.” He said looking at the mule. “It is time, Titus said, as he jumped from the rock onto the back of the mule, that we continue our journey. “Well, Mr. Hootie, Titus said, looking up at the bird, if you care to join us, we’re off to slay a dragon.” Traveling was easy, as long as they could stay near the stream. Sometimes, however, the trees were so close together, or the rocks much too large for the mule to go through or climb over, and they would have to go out of their way to get around the obstacle. They saw one more bear, stopping only long enough for Titus to point the wand at him and saying, “Be off with you.
