The Beach Research Paper

The beach was my favorite song. The gull’s obnoxious caws as they flew overhead hunting for snappers, the toddlers laughing at the mischievous waves that grazed their unexpecting toes, the running dialogue and staccato beats of laughter that danced between me and my friends: every sound was a note in the ever-familiar symphony of the bay. When I was here, the rest of the world seemed strikingly bleak. Nothing could compare to the rickety green dock called my name, the soft sand that warmed my tanned skin, and the cool salty water that never failed lure me in as if I was a lost mermaid returning home. The beach is a land of memories. When I was younger, my sister and I would embark on our mermaid missions with our rightful mermaid names: Azure Waverider and Lunarias. Hand in hand, we’d dive into the indigo depths, hunting for the lost conch or the enchanted red rock to try to please our angry father, Poseidon, who would surely make a wicked storm, if we didn’t complete our quest. …show more content…
In our eyes, the dock was the pearl in the oyster that was our beach. Together all nine of us would race toward the dock and pile on, sending the tourists off in a split second: this was ours. Once all of were stationed in our designated positions, we’d begin the sacred game: taps. Although it may seem mundane, this game was the undoubtedly the most entertaining of all. The best times were when we’d jump off the dock to make the most valiant of a save or when we’d tilt back to tap the ball, only to fall back-first into the hard water below.
