Yes, there is a clear attempt to end this, however it is still looked as the smart college girls going into a room full of offenders in which we try to help them. They do not need our help, they are going to succeed to their individual goals whether or not we go there or not. We are just the same as them and we are nothing special. Just because we know how to read better does not separate us from them because in most of the boys that participate, they can read just as well if not better. Furthermore, that conflict will be taken away when the next book club comes together and when being introduced, the Bay Path students are introduced as girls or women, instead of the women from Bay Path. That is automatically created a sense of power that we have when in reality it is not true nor do most of the girls participating
