The Bay Path Reflection

My overall impression from this video was the woman that was instructing the experiment. She i bold with her plan and having specific to achieve making others to know how it feels and understand to be different. This was one of the most interesting videos I have ever had to watch her at Bay Path. Not only was it a serious topic that needs to be addressed more, it was conveyed in such a unique manner to really show how comfortable whites really get around the issue of race. By that woman speaking up in the beginning it goes to show how ignorant most white individuals are. It was a learning experience that is going over most of their heads with the fact that they feel the blue eyed individuals do not deserve the harsh backlash just because they have blue eyes when in fact that is where racism starts. Individuals who do not have white skin do not have the opportunity to change which side they are on.

Yes, there is a clear attempt to end this, however it is still looked as the smart college girls going into a room full of offenders in which we try to help them. They do not need our help, they are going to succeed to their individual goals whether or not we go there or not. We are just the same as them and we are nothing special. Just because we know how to read better does not separate us from them because in most of the boys that participate, they can read just as well if not better. Furthermore, that conflict will be taken away when the next book club comes together and when being introduced, the Bay Path students are introduced as girls or women, instead of the women from Bay Path. That is automatically created a sense of power that we have when in reality it is not true nor do most of the girls participating
