Man ceased to exist, and those who survived retreated deep into the mountains in hopes of surviving the nightmares that plagued the world. Yet no matter where man went, the monsters still find them, and all hope seemed to be at a loss. The time of man was almost over, yes there was those who fought but they were few, and losing rather fast. Most of the time if not always man didn't venture far alone, they always traveled in groups or pairs, and only one person was brave enough to face the monsters alone.

Her pale fingers reached for the blanket only to feel the feeling of silk beneath her fingers causing her to bolt up. Gazing around the dimly let room caused a frown to form on her face. Last thing she remembered was being in the woods before blacking out, and wherever she was it wasn't sitting well with her. The feeling of being watched soon swept over Alice causing her to reach for her gun. Feeling nothing but skin finally made Alice glance down. Her clothes had been removed leaving her only in a lacy black set. Fumbling for the blanket, she drew the thin silk around her before rising from the bed. She hadn't gone two feet when the door opened and in walked a maid.

Without a single word, the maid took the blanket from Alice causing her body to quiver from the cold air in the room. Grateful for the black dress the maid handed to her. Alice quickly got dressed before slipping on a pair of black heels following the maid out into the hallway. After a few moments of walking the maid paused in front of two doors then opened them, slipping through the crack, Alice scanned the large room before her eyes met

Dawn broke to an explosion of bird songs, the cacophony startling Booker awake with a disgruntled groan. Unimpressed by the early morning alarm clock, he angrily pulled his pillow over his head and attempted to drown out the noise. But after several minutes, the humorous fact that the sound easily penetrated through the downy feathers brought a good-natured smile to his lips, and with a resigned sigh, he threw the pillow to the floor and sat up. From across the room, Tom yawned loudly, a sleepy smile spreading across his face.…

Wow! The two kids in the narrative essay “The Great Buffalo Hunt” were little rebels, hesitant about going into the first grade, ran away to become “Mountain Men” ,that were depicted in their children’s book, that do not shower or bathe, and of course no school. It kind of amazes me that they both were gone for four days and went over twenty miles. It is also funny, however, they both packed “duffle bags the size of adolescent whales” The writing of this paper is great and it really grabbed my attention, wondering what would happen next. The conclusion of this paper was also very interesting, as he put it they both were sentenced as fugitives.…

She stumbled over the brick line right outside her low bedroom window, quickly wrenching it open to tumble inside unceremoniously. It was a good thing her room was on the ground floor, the low window a good exit, a means to escape without detection. Bothered by her mangled leg, she limped to her bathroom after closing and securing her window latch. Balancing on her bathtub’s rim, she unwrapped the scarf she had tied carelessly around the dusty gash. The red of her blood had seeped into the wine of the cloth, the draining of blood on the battlefield.…
