“The bass the river and sheila mant” by w.d. wethem gives insight into making difficult decisions between a boy, girl and a fish. A boy to make a difficult choice of weather to to please the girl or the catch the fish of a lifetime. The narrator is a boy who likes sheila and he is fourteen and has to try and impress sheila. Sheila Mant is the middle daughter at seventeen years old and she likes to play softball. The story’s theme is some choices in life are not worth letting go.
The conflict is a boy is on a date with a girl that he likes and a fish in the river bites the hook of the boys pole in the water and he doesn't know what to do weather to reel the fish in or cut the line too keep the girl happy. Thas begins the conflict between the
