The barbaric behaviors of young Prince Hamlet left a great tragedy in Denmark. In this play young Prince Hamlet was rather a rounded than flat character. He had imperfections that sooner than later led to consequences. The wrongful death of self-centered Polonius caused Prince Hamlet great guilt, Ophelia to commit suicide, and Laertes to want to fight and kill Prince Hamlet.
Ironically, Prince Hamlet was guilty after killing the manipulating Polonius. The fact he did not know it was Polonius (he was shocked because it was the wrong person that he planned getting revenge on), but at the same time he was cold-hearted. Prince Hamlet said some mean things to Polonius by calling him “ low-life, nosy, busy body fool” dismissing him as a nobody(3.4.30-35). Prince Hamlet felt no guilt or mercy for conniving Polonius being stabbed. Ophelia also felt like Prince Hamlet had many crushing demands that she could not follow because of her father and brother’s instructions. The relationships between the parents and teens of both family really shows how things such as depression and suicidal thoughts. There are some people however, who would say that those aren’t directly connected with things such as suicide. Ophelia and Laertes act as foils for Hamlet, as they develop the theme: The murder of a loved one corrupts a person in a way that it triggers acts of irrational behaviour. In the play Hamlet, we are able to see the actions that Ophelia and Laertes take once they experience a murder similar to Hamlet 's. Ophelia and Hamlet experience the same feelings of grief and despair towards their fathers. After the death of Polonius, Ophelia becomes robbed of her sanity. As Claudius explains, “... My thesis is that ‘Drama reveals the issues of characters caught in crisis.’ Through the drama of the death of king hamlet, we see through the cracks of crisis the real issues of the main characters. We see that when Hamlet finds out from his dead father that king Hamlet was murdered by Claudius. Hamlet is unsure whether to commit the crime of killing Claudius or not and battles between his conscience and his honour. Hamlet experiences psychological crisis from not knowing what is the right course of action, as shown by his soliloquy “To be, or not to be," Where he questions whether to commit suicide or commit the act which his conscience disagrees with as said in the line, "Whether tis nobler in the mind to suffer The slings and arrows…

However, when he realized he had killed Polonius, Hamlet felt no sorrow for his death (despite committing murder in the presence of his mother). “Thou wretched rash, intruding fool. Farewell, I took thee for thy better” acknowledges Hamlet after stabbing Polonius unknowingly behind the curtain. Instead of an ordinary hero seeking justice, Hamlet wanted Claudius suffering for his sins and felt no guilt for Polonius’ death, insulting and blaming him for his death due to his intrusion on Gertrude.…

Shakespeare draws on the stage metaphor, an ancient idea stretching back to the time of Pythagoras, and incorporates this comparison of the real world and the world of theatre into a number of his plays. In Hamlet, he uses the concept of metatheatre to emphasise on the theme as well as to create and use a forceful instrument that forcefully thrusts the current situation into the next set of events. He creates an illusion within an illusion which has a profound impact on reality as the play within the play explores the ideal truth and the moral universe.
