The banning and censoring of books has been around since the dark ages. The first major case of book banning was in the reign of King Henry the VIII. During his reign he banned any book not written by the church. This act stopped the spread of knowledge in England until his passing.(What is Censorship) The banning of books carried over to America as well. The list of books that have been banned or challenged for content in America is very large and surprising. Books that could be classified as American classics have been challenged before. • It protects sensitive information

• It necessitates the regulation of internet material
