Why Are Steroids Be Banned

Steroids have been a major topic of controversy over a couple of years. The reason for this is that then used in succession, an athlete’s ability to perform increases drastically thus making them an unfair advantage over other athletes within the same field. The use of steroids doesn’t come without a cost as peoples bodies take effect of the substance that is being pumped into the body. Steroids have led to a lot of amazing feats and yet sadly it has also contributed towards a lot of deaths. This is what sparked my thesis on this whole paper. I want to find out if the banishment of steroids is mainly attributed to the health risk associated with it. This is a multi-faceted topic to tackle, reason being that people succumb to a variety of societal or even personal pressures that lead towards the abuse of the substance. People abuse steroids for a variety of reasons, but most do it to increase physique performance and appearance. There may be peer pressure to use anabolic steroids in some sports because of a fear that normal training will not be enough to succeed. There is also the perception that other sportspersons are mistreating steroids and gaining an unfair benefit.
There are people out there who use steroids to augment their appearance by growing muscle and decreasing fat may suffer from muscle dysmorphia or irregular perception of their own body. Males may think that they are perpetually too small and weak, and females may think themselves fat, even though that perception may not be actually true. These are just societal pressures that are placed and thus affect how the person decides to be viewed by the
