The very first and simple opposition was that the government was overstepping their boundaries by telling their citizens that there are not capable and responsible enough to make their own decisions of smoking or not, that their freedom was not respected. They also argued against this ban, because if it 's legal to manufacture and sell tobacco products then there shouldn 't be any ban on advertising or sponsoring events. Another important argument that came against this ban was if advertising would not be allowed, then consumers that still wanted to smoke would make a wrong uneducated choice of going back to more harmful smoking products like Ghutka and or zarda instead of looking for better alternatives like cigarettes. Since technology and globalization is everywhere and expanding every day, the opposition also felt that by banning local Indian tobacco companies from advertising. People in India still would watch different international channels like NASCAR and see American made tobacco companies that are sponsoring these events. But tobacco companies should not have any right to advertise in sports events due to too many children are taken by their parents to go watch these events and the kids are looking at all those advertisements and could find them interesting especially the tobacco companies that make those ads fun or having animation in them. I don 't think that they should also have a right to make advertisements on TV channels or if they are going to have any TV airtime they should do it after hours when they know very well that children of young ages are already in bed sleeping. It 's a very tricky situation but kids change their minds a lot easier than adults and their opinion can be changed very quickly as they are children and that 's expected of them. As you teach them and show them and learn more as time goes by, they become smarter and wiser making smarter choices. But until then tobacco companies shouldn 't have any right in getting near these kids at any young age with any type of advertisements. Governments that are still thinking of putting in bans should take their time analyzing all the studies that have come out and looking at other governments that have implemented this type of ban, and making the right choice if it 's
