With the focus on fire safety and patient care, the Baltimore City Fire Department is one of the leaders in fire protection in the United States. However, as the world changes, the Baby Boomers continue to exceed the senior age of 65, and Millennials reaches parenthood, specific risk starts to emerge. Furthermore, because of these groups being scattered throughout the Baltimore City region, it is essential for the organization to acknowledge the risk and vulnerability to each community they serve. Because of the types of service delivery, evolving community demographic, the mixture of commercial and residential buildings Morrell Park Community would benefit from a Community Risk Reduction Plan that is uniquely designed to meet the needs of the …show more content…
Director Maloney has an extensive background in Risk Management and Preparedness. He also is skilled at leading groups and establishing consensus.

Councilman Reisinger assured me that all city department resources would be available for this project, and Captain Ready has stated, he and the Fire Marshalls Office is committed and will assist us in code enforcement and inspection records and other administrative support. Kevin Clarey will support the team with Household Emergency Preparedness ideas. Captain Weems will supply the team with transportation and will act as the teams Emergency Medical consultant.
Meeting and Special training workshops will be held at Good Shepherd Church of God In Christ on the first and third Tuesdays of the month until completed.

One of the leadership biggest concerns is to implement a program that is cost effient for the community and at the same time lessen the political resistance. The best way is to find available fire and safety grants, however, our leadership team in lacking grant writers. Therefore, we are in search for English major intern from areas college to assist us with grant
