We had the decision to go east and attend a big school in Williston, or go west and attend a small school in Bainville. Since we came from a small school we chose to stay in a small school. Bainville was a thirty-minute drive from our house, but we had to ride the bus so it took an hour ride. This was always my favorite time of the day, the Bakken was crazy but nothing could compare to listening to music and watching the most beautiful sunrise every morning. The sunrise wasn’t the only amazing thing every morning though, every morning was like a time traveling experience. We were the first pick-up of the morning for the bus at 8:00am, we spent an hour on the bus and still got to the school at 8:00am. Especially when there is a max of ten people per graduating class. Most of the people in this school grew up together, and some were not very welcoming to newcomers. In the beginning it was a struggle to make friends, everyone was already so close with each other that they didn’t let others in. When you come from a family that is there for the oil boom they expect that you won’t stay long.
