It is very clear in my book, Stung by Bethany Wiggins, a constant theme is about character change. This book is about how Fiona wakes up years later from a drug induced sleep, and the world is in ruins. There had been a vaccine for a bee flu, but what people didn’t know was that the vaccine turned people into beasts. At first I thought that this book was just about bravery and how situations can cause you to act differently, but now I realize that this book is much deeper than that. As the main character, Fionna, starts to become braver as the story progresses, I now realize that the situation isn’t making her act out of character, but making her show who she really is.…

Recently a grand discovery was made in the back of a journal in Savannah, Ga. The journal belonged to Conrad Aiken before his death in 1973. It was found while an organization called The Aiken Project was cleaning out his safety deposit box, with the permission of his children, in order to create an exhibit in the Savannah College of Art and Design Library. Aiken is one of Savannah’s well-known poets of the 20th century, and because of this The Aiken Project, created in his honor, wants to create an exhibit to showcase his greatest short stories and poems. While researching for this exhibit it was discovered that Aiken owned a safe deposit box that has remained relatively untouched by his children, with whom he left the key, until 1990 when…

"The Crimson Candle" fits the explanatory meaning of a fable, a short story with an underlining moral. In the fable the spouse searches out a diminishing guarantee from his dearest and steadfast wife. Being a loyal wife she gives her word that she will not remarry until she fulfills his dying wish. In Bierce 's adaptation of this fable he is likewise attached to two more significant arrangements of judgments: one set made by the characters ' tone and the other made by the pursuers. In this essay we will be exploring the lesson to be learned from this fable and how it still applies to this era.…
