However, this is still more promising than The Bachelor’s statistics. Although almost every season of The Bachelor ends in an engagement, the show does not have a good reputation for long-lasting relationships. Over the past seasons, The Bachelor has attempted to pair twenty couples. Not including the most recent couple, only twelve of the nineteen couples have actually got engaged, and only one couple has actually gone through with a marriage. Most of the other couples barely managed to make their relationships last long enough for their season finally to air. Ben was close to perfect, he was charming, polite, caring, genuine, and extremely easy to look at. What more could a girl ask for? Ben was chosen to be the next bachelor from season 11 of The Bachelorette where he was the third runner-up. Ben had an interesting pool of twenty-eight women to choose from, including a pair of twins, and one women who describes herself as a “chicken enthusiast.” In the end, Ben narrows it down to two contestants, JoJo and Lauren B. In the episode prior to the final rose ceremony, Ben tells both women that he loves them. This proposed a serious dilemma, for everyone involved. During the final rose ceremony, he says his goodbyes to JoJo after she pours her heart out to him. After JoJo leaves, Ben gets down on one knee and pops the question to Lauren B. It was obvious to viewers that Lauren B. had caught his eye from day one, you could practically feel the chemistry through the television. It will be interesting to see if they can make their relationship last, and not fall into the pattern of the previous relationships that have sprouted from The Bachelor
