It’s just the teachers fault for not effectively teaching a bigger class, which invalidates the claim that reducing the sizes of classrooms will effect test scores or performance. Studies have consistently proven over the years that smaller class sizes improve test scores and have exam scores. Students in smaller classes often have performed better and proven the effectiveness of small group instruction especially among the first years of school. Researchers found significant achievement gains for students in small kindergarten classes relative to students in larger classes; they also found additional gains in first grade (Loveless). Smaller class sizes, especially among younger students proved to be more effective in a 2 year span. Small class sizes and better understanding allow a faster pace of learning. Researchers conducted studies and found that both smaller classes and smaller schools were associate with more learning. An important consideration for policymakers is that medium-size and small classes produced similar benefits for students. The disadvantage related to large classes and schools was what really mattered. A student who had been enrolled in a large class in a large school completed first grade about 1.5 months behind the typical student (Loveless). A smaller class size will benefit both a students and teacher. More efficient lesson plans will be easier to understand. Less distractions from students and peers will make the teacher easier to focus on. From a teachers perspective less work to grade will put less stress on them to grade so many papers. In order to ensure the youth will be successful with keeping this country prosperous and successful, we must make their education our top priority. They are the Politicians, Presidents, Doctors, Lawyers, Engineers, and Scientists of the future. “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” – Nelson
