The Authentic Leadership Of Martin Luther King Jr.

In the following report I will be evaluating a very successful leader named Martin Luther King Jr. It all started with a dream, a dream for change and a dream for a better tomorrow. Martin Luther King Jr. was an activist and a leader in the civil rights movement of USA. He is known for the non-violent ways in which he advanced and led the civil rights movement. He fought for racial equality and showed everyone a picture of a better future where all men and women are equal. Courage, perseverance and the will to fight for what is right until the very end made him a great leader, so great that he won The Nobel Peace Prize in 1964. Authentic leaders usually listen to their inner conscience to help guide them in decision making and taking a stand on a controversial issue (equality and peace). He was true in the fact that he was more focused on speaking true about certain principles rather than the concern for what people think or how they might misinterpret his intentions. A core value of being self-aware helped him always think of ways he could better himself to help serve those who followed him. He had clear and honest intentions of what he wanted to do and accomplish which is how he showed how trustworthy he was.
