Survey Objective: Lung Cancer Screenings has been recommended to be an effective method of early detection for potential at risk patients. The purpose of the proposed research topic is to evaluate physician understanding of lung cancer screening and evaluate the usage of lung cancer screening among physicians as recommended in national guidelines.
Target Population: The target population for the survey is Primary Care Physicians(PCPs) in the United States for a national representation.

In 2013, the United States Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) recommended high risk individuals should receive screening through LDCT (Ebert, 2015). With the recommendation from USPSTF, utilization of low dose computed tomography screenings amongst primary care physician should to be in alignment. Based on National Comprehensive Cancer Network, at risk individuals for lung cancer are current or former smokers between the ages of 55 and 80 years averaging a 30 pack year history of smoking as well as additional risk factors (Woods, 2015).
