The movie starts out with super 8 footage of a family of four with nooses around their necks and sacks over their heads, with a figure cutting a branch as a counterweight to kill the family by hanging from the neck. Only months later does a family move into the murders family's house. Only the husband knows that the house used to belong to a family that got murdered by someone else, as he intends to use the murder case as the basis of the new book, and he also hopes his research will uncover the mystery of the murdered families 5th member, Stephanie, who disappeared after the Stevenson's were murdered. One day however, Ellison (Husband) goes up to the attic and find some super 8 footage that are labeled as innocent home movies. These films are actually videos of different families being murdered in various ways, including the Stevenson's. Ellison is terrified however when he notices a demonic character in all of the film. After consulting a local deputy, Ellison finds out that after each of the murders, a child went missing. From that moment on, him and his family were haunted by the missing children. Also, one night he finds the kinds in the attic, watching the murders. They immediately move back to their old house, but they again find the projector and the super 8 footage in their old house, in the attic. Without giving out to many spoilers, the pattern continues with Ellison's family as they are murdered. The film ends as a family see the attic used in this movie is too hold both a demon, and what he can do, as the attic seems to be a good place to house ghosts, spirits, or demonic figures in these
