I feel that the filmmakers of The Atomic Cafe were trying to show the viewers that the U.S. Government was not being truthful about the atomic bomb and its side effect. The military people involved in dropping the atomic bomb were never told that it was the Atomic Bomb. Paul Tibbets one of the pilots who dropped the atomic bomb was not right after the drop, he called himself a derelict because of a guilty conscience. He stated "my part in this thing may well have something to do with later or now that the U.S. Government might look at some what with a guilty complex." (10:05)
